Office 365 Enterprise E1 $8/user/month – Annual commitment Preferred by: Enterprises that need features like data governance, but very limited use of MS Office applications If you want to opt for an Enterprise plan within your budget, opt for Enterprise E1 plan. When you open an Office document, either as an Outlook email attachment or from a SharePoint document library, the document will launch in Office for the web and will be read-only. To edit a document in Office for the web (edit mode), you need a suite license, such as Office 365 Enterprise E1.

1. Only minor Office document editing and none of the above? Office 365 E1; Cloud Storage in Office 365 E1 vs E3. If we look into the standard services of Office 365, then there is almost no difference between the E1 and the E3 version. But there is one difference between the two, and that is how much personal cloud storage you get.
2. Office 365 Phone System add-on 2. Calling Plans: buy a Calling Plan from Office 365. Or, use the telephone service from your existing provider. Cloud Voicemail: For E1 and E4 plans, buy Exchange Online Plan 2. Or, switch to an Office Suite that comes with Exchange Online Plan 2, such as Office 365 E3. Calling Plans: 1. Phone System add-on 2.
3. Some products contain service plans that cannot be assigned to the same user at the same time. For example, if you have Office 365 E1 and Office 365 E3 in your tenant, and you try to assign both licenses to the same user, the operation fails. This is because the E3 product contains the following service plans that conflict with their E1.

Service availability within each Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plan

Each Microsoft 365 or Office 365 plan includes a number of individual services, such as Exchange Online and SharePoint Online. The following table shows the services that are available in each plan.

While a service may be available across Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans, the features available in each plan may differ. Changing or mixing plans

You can combine Enterprise, Business, and standalone plans (for example, Exchange Online Plan 1) within a single account. However, existing limitations on the number of seats per plan do not change. For example, you can have up to 300 seats per plan on both Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Microsoft 365 Business Standard, but an unlimited number of users on Exchange Online Plan 1.
