I don’t know what it is about MAC lipsticks that cause me to go weak at the knees. Every time I pass a MAC counter, I just can’t pass by without going into a lipstick swatching frenzy whilst making a metal list of what shades I need to add to my collection next (Viva Glam II and Half n Half, I have my eyes on you).

  • I haven’t tried pairing this colour with a lip liner before. However, the store assistant recommended the Soar lip pencil as it has subtle pinky tones with nude hints which can help accelerate the Velvet Teddy beige colouring.
  • MAC Lipstick Matte Velvet Teddy The iconic product that made M.A.C famous. Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips. New (7) from $27.00 & FREE Shipping. MAC Lip Pencil Liner Shade Spice (Pink Cinnamon Stick).05 Ounce $24.84 ($24.84 / 1 Count) In Stock.

In this video I share with you my current 5 favourite MAC lipsticks – the shades that I get the most wear out of. For those that find swatches useful like myself, I hope this video and the photographs in this post help you out when deciding which shade to pick up next. I’ve included a brief description of each of the shades here but for more information, make sure you check out the video.

Cosmo – Amplified

Teddy

A warm, mid-tone peachy pink with a sheeny finish. It’s super comfortable to wear, packed with pigment and full opacity is easily achieved with one layer.
Fast Play – Amplified A neutral, mid tone mauvy pink with a satin finish (slightly more deeper than Cosmo). Again, the Amplified finish is super comfortable to wear, has incredible colour payoff and full opacity is achieved with a single layer.
Twig- Satin Very similar to Fast Play although it has less of a sheen due to it’s Satin finish and pulls more of a plummy pink whereas Fast Play pulls more brown by comparison. It’s comfortable to wear with slightly less slip than the Amplified finishes. The shade is pigmented and a full even coverage is achieved with one layer.
Blankety – Amplified A very light, beigy, pink nude with a sheeny finish. Despite how light it is, it still packs a punch in the pigment department and glides on effortlessly. It feels very creamy and nourishing on the lips. As this is rather on the light side, I like to wear it with a darker lip liner especially Mac’s lip liner in Stripdown.
Velvet Teddy – Matte A warm, muted, mid-tone peachy brown with a matte finish. This shade is probably the closest to my natural lip colour out of all the shades which surprises me. Although matte, it’s not dry and applies just as well as the other formulas. It actually has a similar texture to the Satin finish formula with just a tad less shine. It’s not as flat as a matte liquid lipstick. This is your entry level brown.

What’s yourfavourite Mac lipstick?

MAC Lip Duo Velvet Teddy + Boldly Bare Meet our iconic, most-loved nudes. This lipstick and liner pairing will elevate your natural look. Perfect for fair to medium deep skin tones, in a gorgeous matte texture that can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on your mood. How to use Apply directly to lips. I love Velvet Teddy. It’s easily one of my favourite lipsticks by far and is the ultimate nude shade. I love the fact it’s so versatile; over Soar lip liner from Mac it transforms into a chic 90’s lip, and on it’s own it’s still the perfect nude. However, I recently realised whilst cleaning out. I am obsessed with lipsticks and lip liners, my collection is never ending. I even find it difficult to pop to the shops without buying at least one or the other, usually both! Today’s post consists of swatches and reviews of my current everyday lipstick and liner routine.

The lipstick and lip liner that I am using on a daily basis at the moment are two very popular and raved about products; MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick and MAC Soar lip liner. I absolutely adore Soar and Velvet Teddy paired together as I prefer pink nudes as opposed to more beige nudes.

MAC Soar Lip Liner

Velvet Teddy Lip Liner Combo

If you’re into your pink lipsticks I 100% recommend you purchase MAC’s Soar Lip Liner. It is one of those lip liners which can be paired with an endless amount of lipsticks. Even if the lipstick is a slightly different shade or tone of pink I have found that Soar blends magically with the colour. Similarly to the pairing in this post – Soar is more pink than Velvet Teddy, which has both brown and pink undertones, however they look incredible together. Soar is my go to lip liner, which you can probably tell my how small it is getting due to me using it a lot.

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick

Let me begin by saying Velvet Teddy is probably the most talked about lipstick of the past year at least. However who can blame everyone, it really is as good as everyone says it is. It achieves that perfect nude lip colour that we all desire. To top it all off it is a matte finish, which I personally prefer as it stays on longer and I hate my lips feeling sticky.
